Raymond Ceulemans
billiard phenomenon
Raymond Ceulemans is an absolute billiard phenomenon. This Belgian grandmaster improves again and again in his specialty in three cushion. He has been European and world champion several times and in recent years he has scored his highest average and highest run ever. In fact, nobody was really surprised when Ceulemans became WORLD CHAMPION in three cushion again in October 2001 after sixteen years.
But it is a misunderstanding to think that Ceulemans only caused a furore in three cushion. He also won international and world titles in the balk-line and one cushion. And there is still the reigning world champion in libre, a title that has not been used in billiards since 1969. His dream is to one day play in a real three-cushion team with his sons Kurt and Koen and grandson Peter.
Raymond Ceulemans told his memoirs to WIM KLEINE, sports journalist and billiards specialist at the Noordhollands Dagblad, who managed to make it more than just a summary of titles and achievements. The book has a foreword by Studio Sport commentator Ben de Graaf.
